After way too many months of torturing my hair with box color... it was time for some hair love by Paul at Namaste Salon. He styles Katarina and myself, and I was so ready for a drastic change to my dull and damaged hair. We got to talking, and decided I that all over pink would be perfect for me. I was scared, but Paul reassured me that everything could be reversed and fixed if I didn't like it. I decided to take the plunge into icy pink hair color... and I'm so happy I did!
I have been platinum blonde for way too long... it's had time to grow out and lose it's appeal. While I love being a blonde, I was definitely over bleaching it at home with products that hurt my scalp and made my hair break off at unfortunate lengths. Here's a few before shots...
My damaged ends and weird sprigs of short hair around my face and the back of my head were about to be gone for good! Paul made a custom mixture of fashion colors from Aveda and warned me that it had a tendency to darken as it was developing. I trust Paul completely, and so he carefully started applying it all over my hair.
He was right: it did start to darken... and freak me out! I can't have super crazy hair for work, but he assured me it was going to be perfect when were finished so I took some calming breaths and we kept going.
I was so scared when we first washed it out! It was too pink... but Paul had anticipated this and could easily pull a little of the color out with another cleansing wash. All I could do was giggle because I had never seen my hair so crazy! But I kept calm and we did the wash.
After he scaled back the color, I could not stop smiling! I am absolutely in love with my icy pink, cotton candy hair. He also added some bangs and layers to camouflage the damage that the box color had done. I am thrilled, still shocked to see pink when I look in the mirror! If you think you could rock a color like this, give Paul a call at Namaste! He is a hair genius :)
