Hey there... here it is! DFW day #2 coverage of the talented artists of El Salon led by Ron Lopez and the absolutely amazing designer, Jose Duran. I'm so happy to be featured in their part of the DFW fashion show. Their makeup and hair definitely stood out from the other hair salons and the dresses by Mr. Duran were breathtaking. Check out the pictures and videos we got... and don't forget to follow us on our facebook page where you can also follow El Salon and Jose Duran himself. Big thanks to Sarah for the amazing pictures and to Paul for the videos and support backstage :)
The models’ hair was first pulled back in a tight top knot and carefully sprayed with temporary black hair dye (Can you believe Katarina was able to wash hers out on the first try?!). Ron Lopez, the makeup artist, started with a clean base to highlight and accentuate each girl’s unique bone structure. He used MAC, Makeup Forever, and a makeup artist’s secret weapon: the Shu Uemura eyelash curler. He completed the look with a light coat of mascara and a dark metallic blue lipstick.
Each model had a different hairpiece created by the artists at El Salon. They were extravagant, avant-garde, and took several artists working at the same time to put on the models.
The final hair and makeup looks were stunning. Check out Katarina's nails... The artists created this look by applying round children stickers to each nail before painting the tips with dark blue OPI nail polish. What a great idea!
We wanted to highlight the amazing Denver designer, Jose Duran, and his dresses. Beginning his designing career at age 18, it's now his fourth season working with El Salon for DFW. The dresses are very original, extravagant, feminine and luxurious... every girl's dream.
El Salon and Jose Duran created a show which raised the bar in Denver's high fashion scene, comparable to that of New York, Paris, London or Milan.
