I can't even explain how frustrating life can get without some real Slovak food in my diet. Growing up with it... I crave dumplings, sauerkraut, and rye bread almost every day. Finally I had some time to drive down to South Broadway and get some real Slovak food and speak in my language. I love Sobo 151, I think even the air around the restaurant smells like Europe and the inside of it is even better, it's a replica of a traditional slovak/czech pub... except no one was smoking inside. Getting there around 5pm we still hit their happy hour (M-F, 3-6pm), they have Krusovice and Staropramen on tap, ordered some apps (UTOPENEC... translation meaning "drowned man" :)... pickled sausage) and then of course I had to have some real slovak dishes. You all should go and try some of my home food... it's the secret to eastern-european beauty! :D
P.S. Can't wait till czechoslovak parties! It's gonna be wild!
Feels like home
